In the 1960's and 1970's, colour film was still in its infancy and - by todays standards, quiet expensive.
Track photographers who sold prints.. did not run away with vast profits. Most barely covered costs. The magazines of the day published in B&W only - the only colour being the paper or Title block colour - until AUTO Enthusiast Magazine came along and took an interest in circuit racing.
