BriSCA have announced on their websites, the sad news that 391 Stuart Smith passed away on 23/12/2010
BRISCA Media and A.B. Whittam, express our sympathy to Stuarts family.

I first saw Stuart in his recently won first Gold Top, racing around Belle Vue Manchester  those of my generation may have been lucky enough to see what were  then young kids and are now todays granddads and  BriSCA Legends.
As George Best is THE outstanding football legend, some like me can proudly say, I saw George play at Old Trafford and he was brilliant, a one off and truly gifted.
I can add to that and with equal reverence and say, - I saw Stu Smith racing  at many tracks and .. he was brilliant, a one off and truly gifted.
Few deserve the tag of "Legend"  Stuart Smith does.

The Smiffy Smash

A series of images taken during an "incident" at Coventry. 391 Stu Smith was intent at winning
( again) and after what seems like in inadvertant ride up 2 WIllie Harrisons rear wheels and some minor damage to his car... he hurtled off surely knowing he would be black flagged for the bodywork hanging off.. until he caught up with  306 Mick Noden.. who seems to have been a target rather than a bystander caught up in chaos!
As it happened long ago... the whys and hows will remain lost to all not watching that night!!!!

With around 20,000 images to process.... we can never really add everything as a shopping item. So we have decided to present  various images as a slide show. Giving you an opportunity to see how the sport was many years ago... and also allowing you to purchase images if you wish.
